Amanda joined the Morris Animal Inn (MAI) Pet Enrichment Team (PET) in June 2021 as a Pet Enrichment Specialist and is now Morris Animal Inn’s Pet Enrichment Assistant Manager.
She received her degree from Savannah College of Art and Design with a focus in Business of Beauty and Fragrance. For her senior capstone, she created a dog perfume line where she created actual scents in the fragrance lab at school.
Amanda grew up with a Yorkshire Terrier named Baxter, who started her love for animals. Growing up, her biggest dream was to work with animals and gain experience with them. MAI aligned with her values, and she knew the fun pet atmosphere was the right path for her.
PET enrichment is designed to create a positive environment for pet guests by supporting their mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Amanda helps ensure each pet feels comfortable and cared for, beginning with client interactions where she enjoys building personal relationships with owners and giving them peace of mind. She takes pride in contributing to each pet’s happiness during their stay at MAI by making sure the dogs play outside safely and have all their needs met. She also enjoys developing engaging experiences through daily enrichment activities and themed holiday games. As PET Assistant Manager, Amanda values training her staff and motivating her team each day. Collaborating with colleagues who share her love of animals is one of the most rewarding parts of her role.
Amanda spends her free time researching information about animals, doing makeup for friends’ weddings and reading mystery and thriller stories.
Being a part of the Morris Animal Inn team has been life changing for Amanda and she’s happy to have redirected her career path to work with animals for a living.
