Meal Information
All of our canine guests are fed premium veterinarian recommended dog food during their stay. The specific blend has been chosen for its high palatability and digestibility making it the perfect match for dogs in a boarding situation. Both dry and canned formulas are available. You are welcome to provide your pet’s regular food if you choose (please pre-pack individual bags). Arrangements can be made if your pet is on a specific feeding schedule or has special requirements (a small service charge may apply).
It is recommended you limit the amount of food you provide your pet on the day of check in due to the natural excitement your pet may experience upon arrival at the Inn. Likewise, food and water should be limited for the first hour or two after you pet arrives home. This will allow your pet ample time to settle in before feeding.
Happy Hour – Each afternoon at approximately 5 o’clock all of our guests will participate in Happy Hour. Each guest will be treated to a mouthwatering, delectable “Happy Hour” treat to help them wind down from a busy day spent benefiting from all that Morris Animal Inn has to offer. Please let us know of any dietary restrictions during check-in.

Pet Wellness
Unlike any other pet care facility, Morris Animal Inn has a Pet Wellness department dedicated to the health and wellness of your pet. Additionally, we retain a veterinarian on call 24 hours a day in case of emergency. If your pet should require medical attention while in our care our protocol is to contact your veterinarian. Should the nature of your pet’s illness require an office visit we reserve the right to utilize our on-call veterinarian (this decision depends on the illness and the travel time to your veterinarian). Our caring staff can administer any oral or topical medications your dog may require during their visit.

Questions?
What can my dog expect during their first dog boarding stay at Morris Animal Inn?
As a result of the special hands-on care, comfortable accommodations, competent & well-trained staff, the quality of the facility, and the amount of personalized activities we offer, our guests adapt very well and enjoy the wonderful experience of being part of our family. If you have any concerns, we can certainly recommend a complimentary visit or schedule a few daycare appointments prior to their lodging stay to help them acclimate and build positive relationships with our team!
Is dog boarding at Morris Animal Inn recommended for senior dogs who have never boarded before?
It has been our professional experience that a pet of 12 years of age or older that has never stayed with us before may have a difficult time adjusting to a new environment and routine. We regret in these cases that we are unable to accommodate and recommend speaking to your veterinarian about the most suitable option for your pet, which could include medical boarding or in-home care.
Should I bring my dog’s food for a dog boarding stay at Morris Animal Inn?
In order to help keep your pet’s routine as consistent as possible, we encourage you to bring their regular diet from home. Sudden changes in diet may result in possible GI upset and you should consult your veterinarian for guidance. If you’d like to use our food, please note we serve a premium veterinary formula (Purina EN Gastroenteric, where the primary source of protein is Chicken) and find that most pets do well on our food as it is formulated for sensitive stomachs. However, if your pet is sensitive to changes in their diet, routine, or environment, we would suggest packing their food from home in pre-portioned bags/containers.
Can Morris Animal Inn administer medication during a dog boarding stay?
Yes, we are able to administer oral and topical medications. To ensure proper handling and administration there is a small fee per administration. We regret we are unable to administer any medication that requires an injection.
Please bring any medication in the original container with specific instructions.
Can my dog board at Morris Animal Inn after surgery or while recovering from a medical procedure?
To ensure your pets’ health and happiness, we do require that they are at least two (2) weeks post-op of any surgical procedure and without any sutures. In some cases, we may require a doctor’s release prior to accepting for services.
What should I prepare before my dog’s boarding stay at Morris Animal Inn?
Activity and grooming requests should be made at the time the reservation is made. Vaccination records for Bordetella, Distemper, Parvo, Canine Influenza and Rabies should be faxed/emailed/texted over before arrival. Adequate telephone numbers should be provided in case we need to contact you. Any special diets or medications should be clearly communicated to our receptionists upon check-in. A scheduled pick-up time should also be discussed upon drop off. All amenities are provided: bowls, bedding and toys. No need to bring any of these items.
What is the cancellation policy for dog boarding reservations at Morris Animal Inn?
Changes or cancellations to a non-holiday/vacation period reservation must be made three days in advance or cancellation fees will apply. If you need to change or cancel a holiday/vacation period reservation, you must notify us at least 14 days in advance or cancellation fees will apply.
What happens if my dog needs veterinary care while boarding at Morris Animal Inn?
If your pet should require medical attention while in our care, our customary procedure is to contact your veterinarian. Should the nature of your pet’s illness require an office visit, we reserve the right to utilize our 24-hour on-call veterinarian, depending on the illness and the travel required to access your veterinarian.
